Poll for Wettest place in this year SWM

After last year's epic rainfall race for being the wettest places during South West Monsoon. I have compiled a poll for viewers to vote for the SWM season 2012. The final poll results are given below.
The 2011 rankings can be found here - 2011 SWM rainfall rankings

Further the much expected SWM figures will be posted for the period ending June 15 by next week end. Watch out the figures in Tamil Nadu Weatherman Blog, Indian Weatherman Blog, Kea Weather Blog, Vagaries of the Weather Blog (Rajesh Sir) and Ring Road Weather Station Blog (Ashok Patel Sir).  I am monitoring the data of around 150 HRF stations so its exciting times ahead.

  1. Dear Pradeep,
Have you taken into account the rainfall of Maya bander, upper Kothaiyar, etc. AS of date I do not think that Chinna Kallar (Upper Nirar dam)will receive copious rainfall during this SWM period. Since JULY is the representative month one has to wait and see. However definitely stations like Maysinram, chrrapunji, will record good rainfall.

  2. Viravanalluran,

Upper Kodayar rainfall is spread over the year, so discount it

ChinnaKallar dont write it off....It just started with a bang from last week.

the rainfall till date are as follows -

    Chinnkallar (380 mm)
    Valparai (350 mm)
    Devala (300 mm)
    Sholayar (250 mm)
    Upper Bhavani (180 mm)

Not bad start for TN toppers

I agree with you. Great start by Cherra. Dont be surprised by Heavy players from West Bengal.
