For young weather aspirants

India Meteorological Department [IMD], invites applications from Graduate/Diploma holders to be appointed as ‘Scientific Assistant’. A total of 465 scientific assistant vacancies exist which will be filled through Staff Selection Commission (SSC).
To be eligible for the posts, candidates should have studied science subjects in class 12/Intermediate and must either have a regular Degree in Physics/Computer science/IT/Computer applications or have a Diploma in Electronics and Communications, both with at least 60% marks.
For General candidates, the maximum age should be less than 30 years. This can be up to 33 years for OBC and 35 years for SC/ST candidates.
As said earlier, the recruitment process will be overseen by SSC. Online applications will soon be opened and one should visit ssconline.nic.in and apply using its two step registration process.
After completing the first step of registration, a registration number will be generated along with a challan form for the fee to be paid in any SBI branch (or you can also pay through SBI Internet Banking by directly going to part 2 after part 1 by ignoring the challan). During the process, a photo and a signature must also be uploaded.
Last date to apply online is 26 October 2011.
