All the major dams in Kanyakumari district are overflowing. Shutters are opened in all the dams and 20000 cusecs of water is let out, resulting flood in Thmravarni river banks. Land slips on several places along the railway track passing through Palliyadi lead to a total halt in the railway commutation for the whole day. Many tanks has breached the banks and thousands of hectares of Paddy fileds are inundated. Almost all the low lying areas ar marooned throwing normal life into jeopardy.
