Thanks to heavy HIGH cloud cover. This cloud cover came into land from a Thunderstorm over Bay very near to Chennai coast.
The T shower over Bay is due to the upper-level (500hpa) circulation over central Bay.
4:30pm, Now, HEAVY T showers seen over W,S-W from Chennai at 60 to 100km.
