HEAVY SNOW OVER HILLS RAINS OVER PLAINS, WINTERS TO BECOME SEVERE

As per the expectations heavy snowfall occurred over hills and the view of become undescribable,on other side rains & hails were dumped in north india plains all thanks to the strongest wd(Western disturbance) of the season with a induced cyclonic circulation over North Rajasthan & abjoining haryana. Snow was started in hills from 6th morning and almost every part of hilly States received snow & rains. Whereas by the evening of 6th rains started in plains of nindia & by night many parts of Haryana, Punjab, DelhiNcr started receiving Rains which was continue till today afternoon due to which coldday conditions was also observed. Now the system is moving away so we expect rains to reduce gradually but rains still possible in isolated parts of North india. Now both min & max temperature to fall & by the morning of 10 jan coldwave conditions are expected to grip various parts of North india. Coldwave will be on peak on 11-12 jan temperature may reach upto 0°c in some parts & 3-4°c will be witnessed by mostly station's, ground frost will be seen in fields which can be little harmful for crops only thing to reduce the frost is to fill your fields with sufficient water.
Cold wave is expected to continue at least till 15 jan.
Todays weather observations of various parts of Plains & Hills.
: Safdarjung max: 16.0c so second official cold day of the season.
: Palam: 15.7c
: Shimla: 29 cm snow since 8:30 am Max: 1.2c
: Chandigarh got another 9 mm taking the total rain from this WD to 74 mm...max stood at 12.6c
: Bhuntar AP: Max: 4.5c but no snowfall Only 10 mm rain since morning
: Una: With 6 mm till 5:30 pm the total for the WD stands at 40 mm. Also the max stood at 13.2c...town will soon see freezing temperatures
: Srinagar max: 2.3c with no precipitation since morning
: Manali max: 1.6c
: However Qazigund in south Kashmir got 5 cm since 8:30 am with max settling at 2.4c
: Banihal: 1.6c with 11 mm/cm precipitation .
: Jammu: 12.3c with 12 mm till 5:30 pm...total from this WD is 47 mm.
: Bareilly max: 15.5c with 11 mm till 5:30 pm.
:Rohtak max: 15.8°c with 12mm total rain.
