Tropical Depression 08W formed just south of Guam and expected to transition into a tropical storm and then a cyclone during the weekend. The name Neoguri will be given to the storm as it continues to intensify and track northwest over the open western Pacific.

Indian Monsoon July Forecast: A more hopeful 1st half and a totally dismal 2nd half for rainfall

First half of July looks slightly better than June. The period 7-17 July looking relative productive in terms of rainfall, irrespective whether a typhoon develops as forecasted by US models. This scenario only flatters to deceive as around the 17, the monsoon is expected to go back to its slump.
