Today 10.10.2011/2145 hrs IST. My Boss [Editor of leading daily] was scolding me for not finding actual reason for rainfall in NW parts to SE parts of Tamilnadu yesterday [the Nineth October 2011]. There was considerable rainfall at few places in the districts of Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Erode, Namakkal, Karur, Trichy, Perambalur, Thanjavur, Pudukottai and Tiruvarur. My friends told that it is sign of withdrawal of
SWM 2011 below 15 Degree North Latitude.
similar cloud imagery is also seen today. This means again it may rain from NW to SE direction in Tamilnadu in collateral districts [especially NW to SE direction] such as [1] Krishnagiri, vellore [2] Erode, Tiruppur, Karur, DGL, Theni & Virudunagar. This may be reasoned out like this.
1. Feeble westerlies advecting moisture from Arabian Sea, at levels 925 / 850 /700 hPa, is producing thunder clouds.
2. This resembles April pattern.
3. upper level easterlies are taking curvature over TN latitude [and above also] to become westerlies.
4. Wind reversal is to take place soon.
