The monsoon is eluding us still.There are some sporadic sharp showers in the extreme south of india and maybe srilanka from South west direction, but nothing more.Everything seems to be in place: elnino is disintegrating fast, in fact la nina is trying to develop; somali jet is there; heat low is established in indo-pak border region, cross equatorial flow is established etc etc. Still, the monsoon is yet to establish a foothold. Why is it?

Heavy rains and storms lashed Jammu region late last night bringing the temperature down from 45.5 degrees Celsius to 37.5 deg C. High speed storms are a result of Western Disturbances over the region, MET department said.
