Minimum temperature trend


Upper level Easterlies blowing from Indian Ocean and Bay of Bengal to Arabian sea over penninsular India is becoming westerlies and blowing from Arabian Sea to Bay over NW and adjoining western parts of India. This will considerably resist minimum temperature going further down in Gujarat, Rajastan and some NW parts of India. Perphaps presence of Fog in these regions will be reduced at least partially.
Northern Hemi sphere Equitorial Trough [NHET] line which is well below 8 degree North; that is below Indian latitude. The spurts in the trough line may bring light to moderate rainfall over SE coast of Tamilnadu. The Sun will start its NORTHERLY movement from tomorrow [23 DEC] onwards. Usually during this transition period there happens to be more earth quake or Tsunami.
However weather will be taking a turn when Earth comes close to Sun by (147 million KM) on 3 Jan.

    Main Weather Observations (recorded duirng past 24 hours)
    ♦ Isolated rainfall occured over Andaman & Nicobar Islands. and weather was dry over remaining parts of the country during past 24 hours.
    ♦ The lowest minimum temperature of 3.3°C was recorded at Narnaul (Haryana) in the plains of the country.
    ♦ Minimum temperatures increased by 2 to 4° C over some parts of Haryana, Punjab, north Rajasthan and Gujarat and by 1 to 2° C over many parts of remaining northwest, central and adjoining east India.
    ♦ KALPANA–1 Cloud imagery at 1430 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of north Kashmir, south Bay of Bengal, southeast Arabian Sea and south Andaman Sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over parts of rest Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Maharashtra and peninsular India.
    Synoptic Features based on 1430 hrs IST
    ♦ An easterly wave would affect parts of south peninsular India from tomorrow.
    ♦ A feeble western disturbance would affect western Himalayan region during next 24 hours.
    Major Feature of Weather Forecast (upto 0830 hours IST of 26th December, 2010)
    ♦ Scattered rain/thundershowers would occur over Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
    ♦ Isolated rain/thundershowers would occur over Kerala, Tamil nadu and Lakshadweep.
    However, rainfall would increase over Tamilnadu from tomorrow onwards.
    ♦ Isolated rain/snow would occur over Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and
    Uttarakhand during next 24 hours.
    ♦ Dry weather would prevail over plains of northwest, west, central and east India.
    ♦ Rise in minimum temperatures by 1 to 2° C over many parts of northwest, central and
    adjoining east India during next 24 hours and fall thereafter.
