Meanwhile, SW Monsoon has started withdrawing from Chennai..high level cirrus clouds have started coming from east..NE Monsoon to set early over South Chennai on Oct 17th!!!
That is extremely good news. Hope this turns out to be true. We wish repeatition of 2005 pattern when NE was good for TN. What about La-Nina factor? We have seen even when El-Nino was present NE was never up to satisfaction.
Dear SSET, The monsoon trough is still at the foot hills of Himalayas or from Himalayas to SW Bay....!? But the upper air anticyclonic winds from easterly drags cloud that develops due to lower level westerly wind shear and forming vortex off and along coromendal coast stretching to south Orissa coast. Withdrawal is in the anvil. SEPT 2010 [SWM] will be further active in west coast and formation of small vortex or circulation mid lower troposphere /[just like monsoon depressions]will bring rainfall in Tamilnadu up to delta districts, AP, Royaleseema, MP, and parts of UP etc.
