year 2009 was el-nino period, still NE started only in november 3rd week and finished by december. Very weak monsoon. Infact Oct-Nov was extremely hot in TamilNadu.
Now that have La-nina period still NE is predicted for low intensity.
What will happen to SriLanka? Entire 2010 we never noticed any clouds over SriLanka.
This is usual stuff..by September end, the SWM winds will weaken and hence the winds will start to blow from S/SE/E..also since there is no disturbance in Bay, this has hpnd earlier than previous year..however this does not guarantee early withdrawal of SWM or timely onset of NEM! if this continues, it will favour a gud NEM.
Always problem with NE monsoon!

From Today's IMD satellite picture. It is clearly shown clouds are running towards tamil-Nadu and south interior karnataka.
ReplyDeleteIs it NEM sign?
Otherwise what forces this to happen.
Even in IMD detailed forecast for nest 3 days,"Rain At most places in TN and SI karnataka"
What is causing this sudden change???
