  1. konkan Bhavan rains are still continuing. Nowhere in world it rains as it rains in Mumbai. Probably rate at which rain is dumping it will peak 4000mm this year 2010. World record!

Meanwhile Karnataka drought. Not a single drop of rain in Bangalore since june 2010. Cauvery total dry. KRS dam empty. Any hope for us?

  2. In fact amount of rain for entire monsoon season 2000mm Mumbai received in 1.5 months instead of 4months! What causes each extreme rain over Mumbai/Ratnagiri and other parts of Maharashtra.

On otherhand coastal Karanataka, Kodugu failed to receive any reason, due to which cauvery is dry.

  6. sset, Mumabai wont touch 4000mm this year most probably, 3500 mm till December.
Remember Karnataka,Kerala,Tamilnadu,AP get good rains in NEM. While Mumbai its almost nil. from mid-September you will see huge dip. lets hope mumbai gets 1000mm in next 40 days to cross 3000mm mark.then comes 4000mm

  8. Pradeep sir, NEM are getting weaker everyyear. It is very difficult to predict when they start and when they end. Normally except for TamilNadu(in case it rains), Karnataka doesn't benefit much.So if SWM fails then it is disaster time bomb for Karnataka.

  9. Sset,

NEM 2009 was great success for Karnataka. Hope it continues this year else...Water war between Tamilnadu and Karnataka is sure to errupt. Karnataka has not released its quota of water to TN till now, because of less rains in its catchment areas.

  10. As u say sir let us hope benevolent nature to bless south regions. We can't imagine what happens if cauvery dissappears? Karnataka/Tamilnadu will vanish.

But problem if SWM extends till october(last year cyclone phyan threatned to cross Maharashtra-
    unusual) then NWM cannot start.

Probably national govt should start plan about state river linkage.
