    Heavy rains with thunder and lightning lashed Nagapattinam yesterday evening..the 1st thunderstorm of the season lasted for more than 1 hour..
    Many parts of Cuddalore, Villupuram and also Chengalpet received light rain today early morning..

    Passighat yesterday it got 17cm... today it has registered 18cm...it has got around 200cm rain from march 1st 2010


    It will surely cross 600cm easily this year with the onset of monsoon last week

    In Assam, the flood situation in the Karimganj district of Barak Valley has further deteriorated following heavy rains in the catchment areas. About 350 villages have been inundated affecting about 3 lakh 50 thousand people.

    According to Central Water Commission sources at Silchar, Singla, Longai and Kushiara rivers of the district are still flowing well above the danger marks.
