General climatology for the month of April for South India will be a line of discontinuity in wind fields will persist more or less along 76.0 to 77.0 Degree Longitude i.e along Thuckaly, Palayamkottai, Cochin, Bodinayakanur, central Kerala and it will up to MahyaPredesh sometimes.
That is why during Chitirai festival[Mid April] the River Vaigai will be getting pre monsoon flood waters. Pre monsoon thunder showers will some times will be violent and of destructive nature. The gale wind force sometimes destroy plantain [banana]crops along the foot hills of western ghats. Some times it may be due to Low Level Jets [LLJ] which usually gets momentum between 2200 hrs to 0600 hrs Local time. Farmers must be appraised of this destructive wind.
Farmers are helpless. They can not fight against the nature. Only farmers are the immediate victims of the fury's of nature. No Government is safeguarding farmers from Nature's fury like flood/drought, Cyclone/high pressure related excessive heat(cold too)& fires, destructive gale winds. There should be a comprehensive protection for the crops from these weather.
