NASA image of Tropical Storm Phyan


The Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on NASA’s Aqua satellite captured this true-color image at 2:15 p.m. local time (08:45 UTC) on November 11. Phyan stretches from the Arabian sea toward the northeast over India’s interior, blanketing much of the coast in clouds.

According to this image, Around 2:15pm itself the Cyclone has made landfall..!!

  1. If you look at the core it is already on the east of Mumbai by 0215. Also I exprienced max winds betwen 0200 to 0230 at Panvel. In all probability the landfall was around 12:00 in Ratnagiri.
