Good news is the monthly rainfall average stands well above the normal
50.2mm (Jan. normal - 16 mm)
This somewhat compensates the low rainfall during Nov-2007.
Yesterdays sudden rain activity was far spread across the most parts of Northern-Tamilnadu and south AndhraPradesh.

Going by the satellite pic, the equator region near the Indonesian islands are very active, this will not be the case during this time of year.
