Signs of Thunder shower

I can see (7Pm) lots of lightning activity over South-southeast and even southwest.
I don't think the rains might move into central part of chennai.
But keep your fingers crossed.

About Yesterday's Electric shower

I was good for a sultry september afternoon.
The rain was with lightning-thunder and only mild wind.

Good to see the South-west winds has died down considerably.
Even i noticed the Wind direction during the shower was from North-east.
This is good sign for North-east monsoon.

Night was clear and mild around 25 degrees.

Today (1 PM) it's with scattered clouds and again sultry, high humidity.

I'm back

Chennai Weather 17-May-2005

Had a very good cool and windy night sleep on the terrace of my home.
My house is situated on the beaches of Besant Nagar.

Today is the HOTEST day so far this summer. Around 43 celcius. As my office is situated interior in the city "Madipakkam" it's literally no wind here so it feels like 45 celcius.

Not a single cloud visible over the sky.

Wind direction has changed considerably from S-E to S-W, this is a good sign that the southwest monsoon is on its way.

SW monsoon might set in around june 2nd week.
