Winter season was almost dry till now,only one active wd has seen, which has given good snow & rains over hills & foothills on 25 jan all wds(western disturbances) traveling in upper latitudes but now they were seem traveling in lower latitudes which is favourable for bringing rains & snow over the region. At present a wd is seem approaching hills which is likely to effect j&k by tommorow evening/ night due to which light to moderate rains will occour over the region & till midnight we expect snow with mix of sleet. Rains will continue on 4 jan too, at the same time rains & snow will also occour over himachal & uttrakhand. A cyclonic circulation will form over north Pakistan & abjoining Rajasthan due to which light thundershowers may occour over Punjab & North Haryana, not only this another wd will come on 5 jan which will be much stronger then this one & likely to bring fairly widespread rains over hills as well as on plains including Delhi. Wind pattern is expected to remain E-SE till these wd clears due to which moderate to dense fog will continue over plains where as shallow to moderate fog over Delhi NCR, as the wd clears wind pattern will change & icy NW winds will blow and we can expect first widespread coldwave of the season to start by 9 jan. So be ready to face the bone chilly winters.
